Contrast Wedding
Updated: Nov 18, 2020
When I shot this photo I was going through a heavy contrast phase. This wedding was at golf course and we had spent the first part of the photo shoot out on the sunny green, so we had plenty of those types of bright shots. I thought it would be fun to add some mood to the photo set, so we went into some dim parts of the building. I used one flash to camera left and had it turned up pretty high (I can't remember the settings as this was over 10 years ago). I wanted the light to fall only on the couple and for the rest of the scene to be dark. The photo turned out exactly how I wanted it too, but if I was to shoot this today I would have dialled own the flash a bit, used a faster aperture and eased up on the contrast in the post production.
